Metal Building Fire Rated Wall Assembly

The International Building Code requires fire rated wall assemblies whenever your building is closer than 10′ from your property line. Usually, anything between 5 feet and 10 feet requires a 1 hour rated assembly. If you are on the property line or 3′ or less than you will need a 2 hour rated assembly. These assemblies can be achieved a variety of ways using non-combustible materials. Most typical methods are 5/8″ Type X drywall or Masonry Block Walls.
